Subtly Strawberry Oatmeal and Banana Oatmeal

Subtly Strawberry Oatmeal

1 cup water

Pinch salt

1/2 cup old fashioned oats

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 Tbsp strawberry preserves


In a small sauce pan, combine the water and salt and bring to a rapid boil over hight heat.  Add the oats and reduce the heat to medium.  Cook, stirring occasionally for 5-7 minutes or until the liquid is almost absorbed.  Stir in the vanilla extract.  Cover, remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes.  Spoon into a serving bowl, stir in the preserves and serve.  (You can substitute instant oatmeal)

Banana Oatmeal

3/4 cup cooked oatmeal

1 cup mashed, ripe banana

1 tsp cinnamon

2 tsp sugar or Trevia

4 Tbsp Grape Nuts


Cook oatmeal according to package.  Remove from heat and add the banana, cinnamon and sugar.  Stir until well combined.
